Celebrating 40 Years in Ministry
To God Be The Glory
To God Be The Glory says Thank You! to Him who is my Shepherd. It shares my beginnings in the ministry; how God spoke to me in a very personal way, and how I reluctantly responded. The book is not biographical. It is an intimate look at the hand of God selecting my voice to be His voice.
In chapter one title: A Call From God, this sermonic chapter opens with preface, prologue, and postscript. It is shared in its original form as preached forty years ago. It’s personal and revealing and somewhat rough around the edges. Yet, it reveals the Shepherd’s hand in my nervous start.
The remaining chapters/messages are meant to encourage and enlighten beginning with Driving Directions: How To Get To Restoration Drive. It is a look at being spiritually lost and what’s involved in finding one’s way. The life of the prodigal son helps us to do that. Chapter three: Honoring Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. is a sermonic/speech celebrating America’s hero. It warns America and the world of the work we still must do to achieve brotherhood. Chapter four: Do Your Job reminds gospel ministers of the awesome responsibility of pastoral leadership, and it outlines how to be effective in ministry in these latter-days. Chapter five: Today Is All We Have stresses the importance of wisely using the time that God has allotted us. And finally, chapter six: Don’t Waste Your Time further supports chapter five by discussing the value of time well-used.
